I would first look for a flare fitting connection of that size on the intake manifold that was empty, that would be a start.- ButchM

Help identifying – dash wiring
Been a minute but as I recall the thick purple wire was used in the starting circuit. I recall once, bypassing the clutch petal switch by cutting and butt connecting this wire on a 69 Nova so I could start the car in neutral. My 90 Vette has the same wires. Hope this helps some. Doug Welcome from Southern Idaho!! They can be rebuilt if you can find a rebuild kit. GM used to sell a rebuild kit. -

Greg The parts manuals are an invaluable source for info on these trucks. I have the factory service manuals for 86 and 87 if you have need of info that they may have. They helped me putting a locker in my 86 Dana 70HD in the 90's. Back then we didn't have the internet resources available now...- ButchM

Engine oil capacity
Bart Some history from someone who remembers many of these changes: -Oil pans up to 73 had a thin seal between the timing chain cover and oil pan. 1987 V3500 Engine update
Jeff The LT9 350 and 454W were carbureted thru at least 1988. What all they were available in is debatable. If you have the SPID label showing an LT9 it was carb'd in 87.
