    I am 100% sure I do not have a clutch fan. The fan is bolted directly to the water pump pulley with an aluminum spacer. I'll check out your resources and considering, would my best bet be to just install a clutch fan?

    Sweet thanks! Sounds like the freeze plug heater is the way to go. Out of curiosity, where does "soft plugs" come from? I guess it just means freeze plug but I haven't heard that before.
