Compression is fine in cylinder #2 at 190 psi; I let it sit for maybe 5 minutes and the compression did not change. Compression in cylinder #4 was also 190 psi.
I check spark with a spark plug against the block and saw a regular spark. I don't have anything to compare the spark to, so I don't...
Hooked up a vacuum gauge and on seven cylinders it ran at a solid 21 PSI with no wavering. When I blip the throttle it drops down and then reasonably quickly gets back up to 21 PSI. When I plug in the number two injector pressure goes down to maybe 16 psi 14 psi.
I tried unplugging the coil and...
Thanks @Ricko1966
Reader's Digest Version: 1984 K10 with LS swap. Once I got it back, it ran poorly. I narrowed that down to a dead/cold cylinder #2. Checking the plugs early on (before swapping with another cylinder), the #2 plug looked brand new. Compression looked OK (about 180 psi in...
Been a while, after Holley tested and OK'd the ECU, they replaced the harness. While I was putting everything back together, I managed to close my finger in the truck door. Nothing broken, but a cut that took a could of stitches to close.
So, everything is back together with no changes. I...
Finally got a return authorization from Holley for the harness and the computer. Of course they have to go to separate locations, but I should have an answer in a couple of weeks. The tech said that if the unit has low hours that it may be warrantteed but could not make any promises.
Next up...
I've been quiet for a while - vacationed someplace warm.
My last tech support call with Holley said to power the fuel pump via a relay and run a ground from the pump directly to the battery. I don't see the point, but I spent today taking care of the relay. My wiring is out of control with...
I've been silent on this for a while - I have to work on the truck outside and it snowed and then was cold and damp for a few days. Cold and damp is the combination I just can't take.
I followed Holley tech support's suggestions and did not elicit any change. I did find that a power wire was...
I did a continuity check but not an ohm test. Next couple of steps involve checking ohms along the circuit back to the ECU.
I just spoke with Holley, and they suggested downgrading the firmware to v2 because some older versions of the Terminator do not like v3. Then it is shipping the unit...
I'm a little stumped at this point. I swapped the injectors between #2 and #4 and the problem stayed with cylinder #2. Then I swapped the plugs between #4 and #2 and again the problem stayed with #2. I am getting spark and compression at cylinder #2 which were fine (I tried using the timing...
I thought I replied to this a few days ago - guess I didn't hit send. I tried this and it didn't work. Its either my cheap timing light or I screwed it up.
Today I hooked up a spark plug checker on cylinders 2, 4 and 1. All flashed appropriately although #1 seemed a little brighter. So now...
Spent today putting the fuel rail back on and everything buttoned up. I put a noid light on the even cylinders and got a positive result for all four cylinders (flashing lights = good). I tried checking to see if the injectors were clicking with a screwdriver, but couldn't quite tell - I heard...
Spent this morning cleaning/testing the injectors. All 8 injectors fire nicely with a good clean pattern.
Also spent some time at Youtube University trying to get some hints. I came up with two Scanner Danner videos:
Like @Bextreme04 said, SD said to check voltages of the connections in...
To my understanding, the Terminator fires sequentially and is not a wasted spark system. I swapped ignition coils with no change. Tomorrow or Monday I will use some of the diagnostic funtions of the Terminator to trigger the injectors individually and see what happens
