1985 305 keeps dying after a few seconds
FWIW, sticking EGR valve did this on my 4.3L. Low manifold vacuum at idle to 1100 rpm was one of the symptoms also.- 85 Fleetside

Hydraulic clutch problem
My 85 C10 factory manual says to let the slave cylinder hang with the bleeder up and gravity bleed. I have replaced my slave cylinder four times over the past 30 years and this method works well. Just keep adding brake fluid to the master cylinder reservoir until the fluid runs clear. FWIW...- 85 Fleetside

V6 HEI Timing
85 C10, 4.3L V6, 3sp manual, 350K miles, one owner. Curious what the centrifugal advance and vacuum advance should be on a stock V6 HEI distributor with ESC. My GM factory manual does not give specifics on this. The base timing matches the emission label which says 0 degrees with the vacuum...- 85 Fleetside

1983 original Delco AM/FM intermittent low volume.
The OEM radio circuitry in the mid-80s were DC grounded by a short metal strap near the power connector. Poor grounding at that point will give you this problem because it is the ground reference for the circuit board. Gas gauge not working
Poor connections at the clips behind the fuel gauge can cause intermittent issues. Remove the gauge and squeeze the clips for a better connection. I did this many years ago and have had no problems since.- 85 Fleetside
