Maybe a set of reproduction silver with adhesive vinyl covering the middle? They make it in a lot of different textures.

I would just throw a new stud at it and get it running. Can do a whole new set later. Lots of places to get grade 8 studs.

^This. Copper is the way to go. Plastic will always eventually leak. I had the same exact issue.
