    Door Panel Trim

Maybe a set of reproduction silver with adhesive vinyl covering the middle? They make it in a lot of different textures.

1979 250 ci I6 heat studs - information requested - head studs or bolts?

I would just throw a new stud at it and get it running. Can do a whole new set later. Lots of places to get grade 8 studs.

4l80e conversion in 1985 suburban. What parts do I need?

The one I listed uses dip switches and accepts the signal coming directly out of the VSS and I suspect the output of many different control systems. We are using a US Shift controller to drive the sensor and using their VSS out to drive the box. Only a few buck more than the other unit...

4l80e conversion in 1985 suburban. What parts do I need?

To keep the mechanical speedo, you need a driver. I just installed one of these on a '72. https://www.moderndriveline.com/shop/electric-to-mechanical-speedo-converter-with-58-screw-on-connector/ The linkage on the 4L80 is further back than the TH350/TH400. For the '72 we just had to move...

edelbrock fuel line leak. Anyone else?

^This. Copper is the way to go. Plastic will always eventually leak. I had the same exact issue.

    Tailgate security solution needed

You could use stepside latch pins. Just one side would deter most people. https://www.lmctruck.com/body-components/bed-tailgate/cc-hidden-tailgate-latch-kit

    TH400 Information Thread

Noted. I'll get those books and start there. I'll start collecting parts and I'll likely have a shop take care of the bushings. The 4L60 sizing tool was wishful thinking that they were the same as the 4L80.

1978 Suburban just came in to a local yard

If you're willing and the truck has it, I need both the driver and passenger side front headliner trim and the one all the way in the back. You have my paypal info. I'll keep my phone on me. Send me a request for money and I'll pay it on the spot so you're not out anything. Then we can figure...

    intro and advice

Damn. Jam the original motor back in it and that's a drivetrain and chassis. That'll need so much work that it'd be better to drop a new body on it. Sell it all together so the firewall can stay with the frame.

Alt putting out 17.4 volts. NOT GOOD right?

Not good at all. Regulator is toast. Probably reading that 14.2 at the battery due to resistance from all that heat. Throw a new alternator at it and check for other crusties. If you're feeling froggy, you could wing a new rectifier and regulator at it.

Welcome, Randy. Sorry about your burb. Hard to say for sure without pics, but if it were my 3/4 ton 4wd, I'd try to save it.

    Unlock barn doors from inside

Looking at the LMC parts breakdown, I wonder if a left hand door latch could be made to fit the right hand door. There's the same style of latch in there, just looks like it's shorter so it stays inside the door.

Pretty sure I blew a head gasket this morning....

Eeeesh. Sorry to hear it. If it was that far gone, I'm pulling the heads and the oil pan. Checking cylinder walls and giving rod bearings a wiggle. Maybe even check the mains.

Replacing the ignition module with a MSD box

A MSD Digital 6A is $229. A refurb Digital 6AL is $263 and the Digital 6A Ultra is $300. They will all need a #8861 to bypass the 4 pin HEI module. Digital 6A-Basic spark box Digital 6AL-Basic spark box with limiter Digital 6A Ultra-Basic spark box that's less than half the size of the 6A.

    TH400 Information Thread

@NickTransmissions Wonderful thread sir. I've had your rebuilding videos on while working at my desk to absorb some knowledge by osmosis. I think I've learned enough to ask a less uneducated question. Long story short, the TH400 in my '78 burb needs a rebuild. Going to do a full drag race...

What would you pay for this truck?

I'm in AZ. You can generally find a decent short bed for around 6k if you're patient. A long bed can be as cheap as 2k in good enough shape with the same patience.
