I will try that if it's not my issue.
Another thought is the crank spacer. As far as I know I don't require the crank spacer (to center the torque converter snout) for my application but I need to confirm this as well.

The lower bellhousing pan was rubbing the converter I guess. The pan was gouged right out on the sides. I'll have to see why it's tight there. Runs real nice and quiet though. No smoke, no ticks or knocks, tight. Threw on some Thrush bottles until I can get a real muffler put on.

Thanks. I checked the power steering fluid again and it was below the dip stick so maybe that's the sound. I'll put some mufflers on it and troubleshoot from there.
Hi guys first start on Old Brown finally. Hard to hear much of anything but there is a funny racket there. Almost sounds like a power steering pump at first but you'll notice the sound drags on shut down.
Any ideas on what this sound may be?
