THX very much for this.

There is a plater just over the line in Indiana from Lima called J&P Custom Plating. I got their card from a guy who had had all the chrome on his Olds 442 redone and it was excellent. I sent them a pic of my OE bumper with no dings and he responded "$600-800, depending on how much repair is needed". Its pretty good so hopefully closer to $600. I could see spending that on an OE bumper.
Here’s a before and after pic of my factory original, I was able to get rid of 36 years of haze and dirt. There’s only one small spot where the chrome wore off.

You referring to the replating or were you able to polish it? The one on my truck has excellent chrome for 35 yrs old (but was from the NW where the sun only shines like once a decade). The one I have thats perfect (no dings or dents) was off a burb that was in storage under a mechanics lien for almost 20 yrs (and still saw more sun than the NW one - lol). But its a tad hazy. Was wondering if there was some way to try and shine it up.

I cleaned and polished the original bumper with white polishing compound, then took it to my Baldor buffer/polisher..did not replate it
