Ignition problems

Hey guys I’m new here so I hope I’m doing this right I have a 75 c10 when I got it the wiring inside was a mess and it didn’t run so I bought a new battery for it and to start process of elimination I tried hooking up a push button start as follows positive wire from battery to starter then from battery to first toggle switch and then from that toggle switch to the hei cap then on push button starter I ran wire from battery to push button and from button to the starter solenoid and all I get is a click then I lose all power please help I’m going crazy trying to figure this out

You have a dirty connection at the battery,starter,a bad battery cable,a dead battery or bad battery. You aren't able to provide enough amperage,you are overloading a bad connection forcing it to go open.

You have a dirty connection at the battery,starter,a bad battery cable,a dead battery or bad battery. You aren't able to privide enough amperage your overloading a bad connection forcing it to go open.

Don't forget, both side of each circuit need to be solid. Check the grounds too
With it just being hotwired directly to the battery there should be no reason for power to cut when cranking. When using certain circuits in the cab this can happen as some circuits are designed to not pull power while the ignition is turned to the start position.
