Ever seen the round headlights with the square headlight conversion? Freakin' weird.....there's an add for them in my old Truckin' issue.

not even sure why you'd do that....

I like the grilles on the 81-87 the best, 83 mainly.

I pretty much like all chevy trucks from the 50's all the way up to 06Hd style. I personally own 2 generations of chevys 81-87 and 88-98. Almost an 02, probably the newest i would ever go. Either way, they are all bitchin! I would drive any year.

Yeah, I'll agree. I don't like that to much. I'd prefer the round headlights in that grill set up. I don't mind the square headlights like the Silverado grill in the 84-88 years.

I like my 79 cuz the headlight bezels go all the way around the blinkers. Only year they did that... I think. 73 grill is sick though...have that too.

For me now it has to be 1973 to 75 , no smog for 75 and under , and I only like the factory grille that is recessed , I think they are 73 & 74 , anyway I have two perfect ones and they dont offer them aftermarket. But I did hear that some company is making them now but not sure. All of the aftermarket companies have the fiush style stock grilles , even for the earlyer models.

Hm, tough question.

Just going by the front-end:
I never used to like the round-eye trucks but now I really wish I had one. In fact, aside from my M1008, a round-eye square body will be the next truck I get. I also used to think I was going to put a '91 front-end on my '84 but that hasn't happened yet. Since I like them all, I'll probably have all three as a crewcab round-eye, the M1008 with the regular 80s front-end, and the truck I have now will eventually get the '91 front-end. :)

I was never the headlights that made me decide. I just wanted to avoid the crinkle hood problem of the 73-80 models by going to the seperate cowl and hood in 81. And I have decided I like the flat dash pad better than the sloped dash pad, so that's how I got to 81-91. Then in 84 is when the dimmer swich on the floor and the wiper switch left the dash and all went to the MFS (Multi Function Switch) on the turn signal. I hated when they went to that BS. I first thought, damn, now American trucks are turning into foreign cars. But now, given the choice, I want 84 and newer since the MFS in todays modern way of doing things.

HRPC lube those hinges and add the hood brace it will not crinkle ever again gauranteed... unless you run it into something.

If I ever get a round headlight model I intend to. I been told its 100% preventable.

73-79 hands down. I don't like the 80 cuz it looks funny to me

not all '80 trucks are square headlights, mine isn't. though its not the original grille, everything else is identical to the way it came from the factory.

I like em all... well, except the '81-'82 grilles. But that's easy enough to change.

i'm partial to the 81/82, my first two street driven trucks were 82s, and i bought a 4 headlight 81 in between those two.

though my absolute favorite is the 73-80.
