I don't consider myself by far an expert. But there are a lot of signs here that would have made me question this truck.

@moonman take a picture of the current vin tag as that will be a sign as well if that has been tampered with.

Looks like someone tried fabricating a hitch from welds in the center of it.

Yup! or did fabricate it and it failed miserably.

Or that...lol... If it failed those welds had no penetration because that cross member looks pretty straight.

some of those pics wouldn't pop up on that forum, but yeah mine def doesn't have bolt holes
