Just ordered 2 new AcDelco window motors that will be here tomorrow. 5 bucks cheaper than Lmc wants and free shipping. Probably saved $40.

Anyone replace theirs that could give me some tips? Never done this and I hear it's a bitch. Lol
I removed mine and repaired where it was mounted early2014, never want to do that again, good luck, and may god have mercy on your soul [emoji120]

Easier said than done, still have a bunch of work to do! My favorite tool lately has been my engine hoist. Gotta think outside the box when your working alone. All the parts are AMD, Don't line up perfectly but I expected that. Some one asked recently about building new verse's repair. If you go new order everything at the same time could save some shipping cost.

Sounds like something I'd rather pay someone else to do. Lol

I'm not above that for sure.

It wasnt really that bad,I need to do it again though as my repair didnt seem to last as long as I wanted, I dont feel it's far behind removing the vent window though, I'm waiting until I either get new doors or a good used set that already have everything in them

Opened up the engine from the parts burn to see what killed it.

Ran out of time to dig any deeper. Any chance that the block is salvageable?

Pull that piston and measure depth of damage. Perhaps a re-bore or sleeve will be required

I don't have a use for it right now, but if it's salvageable I'll hang on to it. I'll probably get it torn down the rest of the way this weekend, and see how it looks.

Removed the 3 engines, 2 engine stands, and 4 tires from the truck bed and put into the garage. Took Ole Bessie out on a beer run! Holy glazed brakes, she hasn't been driven other than loading onto the trailer when we moved. Damn near wrecked. Washed the windshield at the gas station so I can actually see! Gonna drive her again tomorrow

Not that bad to me. Roll the windows all the way up then back them off just a bit to take pressure off. I used duct tape to tape the window to the frame, then just unbolted and worked them out. I put new motors and regulators in both doors. Just be sure when putting back in that you get ALL of the rollers back into the correct spots on the tracks. I had one I missed and had to take it back apart to get the last roller in the track. I am guessing it took me around an hour per door start to finish.

After 2 weeks of prep, it actually looks pretty decent compared to the mangled mess I started out with.

Most of that two weeks, though, was just sanding through the 47 layers of paint covering it.

I finally got around to changing the leaking gasket on the rear axle cover. Some PO had got creative at some time and had it painted Chevy orange. Back in black now.
