Tranny swap

Hey all looking to swap the transmission on my 85 square body 1/2 ton it has a 350 turbo looking at putting a 400 turbo out a 77 square body 3/4 ton in it. Was wanting to know what all I have to do to make the swap any info would be appreciated.

Sorry to piggyback off your post but have the same question but didn't want to start a new thread.

I have a turbo 400 with 5000 miles that has been sitting in a shed for 7 years. Is there anything I should do to it before I install it?

For 2wd:

If going from a long tail th350 to a short th400 with a fixed style yoke, it's basically a bolt-in swap. Just move the crossmember back to the other set of holes and swap a long 32 spline yoke onto the driveshaft.

For 4x4:

All depends on the t-cases involved.
