500E is a very desirable hot rod. 5-liter engine sourced from Porsche. I'd love to have one in my garage.

Well see, if you braid the brake hose and ABS wire together, it keeps them from rubbing on anything. Lol.
Irrelevant, but brake hose and brake pad sensor wire. Abs sensors are on the diff side. Have new pads to put in along with a set of springs to try.

Ohhhh yeah, I forgot all about the brake pad sensors on those.

Wrong priorities, but interior things bother. Also coils and brake pads.

As a guy who dailies Benzes (W212 Estate for me and wife has X166), get her sorted out, you'll have one of the most reliable long term cars out there.

Just one word of advice. If the Germans say maintenance is due at 60k, they mean 60. Not 61 or 65.

Do what they say, and she'll last forever. Traded one in at 465k because it needed a transmission mount, and I didn't feel like doing it.

Not loving their brand new stuff, thinking about going backwards (W211 or older) or switching brand loyalty.

That 5l is a great motor. Interior is the old quality MBTex. Solid transmission. Just service her; you're gonna love it until 500k.

This one needs some make up to get there. Used to have the newer bug eye wagon with the v6 and just not a fan of bug eye although it was in a very good shape for the year. I tried to get a w140 euro spec manual short wheel base last month, but people with money always win the auctions. Always prefer euro spec cars as they can be had without the sunroof. Unfortunately this one has the sunroof. I might do a sunroof delete on it if repainting the roof, which it needs paint on roof and hood.

I wouldn't touch that with a 10' pole. A $ drain that will never end IMHO.

Not that much different from other older vehicle. 500e specific parts are about equivalent to finding body pieces for a gmc typhoon for example. But in general a lot of the parts do tend to cost more. About to try taking it for inspection tomorrow. Installed front turn signals and almost done with passenger side rear.

Is that box part of the alarm or a factory relay location they hacked into?

Another 40ft of solid core wiring and it'd look like my truck did.
