I can get my hands on a couple of cheap or possibly free qjet cores, so maybe having it built is the way to go. While I'm at it, here is the intake that came on the truck when I got it http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-226014 Anybody else run one of these? Not sure if its helping me or hurting me. It would help if I knew what had been done to the motor, but other than the mystery cam, I have no clue.

If it sounds like a stock cam or very close to... No worries if that bad boy lopes like a track car then you'll need a couple mods. You'll also need one of these... http://m.summitracing.com/parts/edl-2693 if your intake has a square bore. Fwiw I have that exact intake and I can't tell the diff between it and the Eddie broke intake.

The cam isn't stock. Its got a nice lope to it, but that's about all I know about it. If it performed as well as it sounded I would be in good shape.

Ok well that being said it'd be safe to say you would get the idle circuit modded. Call Mark up to pick his brain about this. Free consultation :) tell him ceas350 from v8 told you about him.

I will try to get a core this week. Next week is bonus week at work :party36: so I will see about giving him a call after that. Thanks for all the help. Also not sure if you got my PM, but your envelope should be there in the morning.

Talked to Mark this morning. He's going to start building me one as soon as I send him some money. The only thing I'm not sure about is this: "The only other thing I would need to know is if you would want the choke still attached. Most people with aftermarket intakes don’t have a way to attach a choke, so I remove all of the components for better air flow." The core hes building from is off an early 70s 350. My current setup has an electric choke. Is the core hes talking about manual choked? Im not sure about not having one. Its not like I live in the Klondike, but we get some pretty cool weather here in the winter and I don't want to have to worry about cold starts.

Winter isn't my only worry. being as how im wired for electric, if I leave it unhooked my choke light stays on, and being as how the choke light is also the low oil pressure light, well you can see why that's not desirable.

He emailed me back and told me he has an 80s core that can be swapped to electric choke, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on that. He said I should have it in about 2 weeks.
