So got this old 84 running with the new fuel pump- Runs a lot better but only run it directly from gas can to fuel pump because the driverside tank leaked like a cive
So added a little to the passanger side tank- it seems to be holdin fine
But what direction is the selection vaulve suposed to b facing for passenger side? It just spins 360 degrees instead of having a left or right position, is it suposed to do that?

How do you see where the valve is pointing? Maybe I never paid close attention, but I thought the valve was totally enclosed (both the valve body and the control head).

Any chance of a couple of images?

I don't know how it's plumbed, but whichever way the handle points is the inlet port that fuel flows through. Gas entering through either inlet port will go through the valve and flow out of the middle port. Like this:

You must be registered for see images attach

You will have to do a little bit of experimenting/line tracing to determine which inlet port leads to which tank. But, it would probably be a safe assumption that if the point on the handle is indexed towards the RH inlet port, the RH tank is on line.
