so what is every body using for their 2 shaft stereos. don't even tell me to cut the dash I will not do it. what's available now seems to suck. bad reviews, bad warranties, just plain bad. I am going to take my Kenwood KRC 2005 to Kenwood and see if they can repair it. for a truck you can buy almost any part, nut, bolt and screw for, it's a shame you can't get a decent stereo. highdesertranger

yeah I am gun shy about buying a used stereo off E-Bay. I however found a service manual for a Kenwood KRC-2005 its on the way. who knows maybe I will have to buy a used radio. highdesertranger

RetroSound radios are the best you can do if you buy new. Crutchfield carries them, and they don't sell junk.

With something used, you're probably getting a 15-30 year old radio that may or may not have problems. That many years of operation can degrade internal electronic components, which can create noise or distortion in the amplifier section, poor reception, etc.

Retro sound is the way to go in this instance. Even have some units with Bluetooth capabilities

I installed a retro sound stereo last week in my 79 Silverado along with the center dash speaker. I love it. Super easy install, classic look and sounds great. I would recommend this set up to anyone.

I bought a stock radio from one of the members here. If I get motivated I may do the mod to it where you can hook up a phone/mp3 player to it and just play a playlist.
