 I "drove" my mom's '71 Impala through the garage door one time when I was a kid (about 3 years old). She got out to talk to a neighbor, I got curious about that gear shift on the column. I slipped into drive and it plowed through the garage door and into the garage wall where the living room was on the other side :laughing1:

She is a real redneck girl , she camps , hunt's , fishes , and rides quads , so she for sure needs a truck , but maybe her dad had a hidden agenda?????????????? I built a nice 78 for my daughter when she was 16 and she wheeled it once in a while , now she is 21 and she treats her truck like it's her baby.Just the other night a guy set a beer on the hood and she told him to get it off and he gave her some crap (it's just an old chevy , whats the big deal ) , so she sunk her cowboy boot in his yam bag and dumped the beer on his head while he was down crying like a school girl , so she takes care of her old chevy. I guess it depends on the person , a lot of kids dont respect the old school stuff. Here is a pic of her truck , it was a lot of work and she keeps it nice 24/7 , but she is not afraid to wheel it either.

Big 10-4 on kids not respecting old school...Its a big problem here in the valley.
The high schools around here are full of Diesel pickups that are 01 or newer...wealthy farmer daddies buying them for their kids all the time, when they don`t haul anything bigger than a quad in the bed.
There are a few exceptions with some square bodies and older, but those are the kids who actually work for what they have.

This is why my kids will never just be given a truck outright. They'll have to give something for it whether it be I pay half of it to help them out or I pay for the truck but they pay to fix it up but I'll never just hands the keys of a ride to my kids.

I've got one....When I was about seven my dad had two trucks. He had them both parked in the parking area of our house. The house I grew up in was on top of a hill our drive way was about 600 yards long up hill, with a 90 deg turn at the bottom. He had one facing the garage working on it, and the other was at the end of the drive way at the top of the hill. I was playing truck driver with my buddy, I reached over and released the brakes, and rolled backwards off the hill. The truck stopped when it hit the bottom storage building. If it wouldn't have stopped there it would have stopped at the neighbors house. I thought my dad was going to KILL me.

I geve my duaghter $1000, her grandmother gave her $500, he mother didn't give her **** of course, so she got $1500 of help on her first $3000 car. And no, I wouldn't cosgin or finance it, so she has to earrm and save some money and pay cash for a car.. Sadly she appreciated it, but her jealous bf destroyed her car. I almost went to jail over that one, but decided he wasn't worth it. I did have cops at my house several times, only to discuss, he needs to stay away from and my property or they'll have a body to clean up on my doorstep. The cops did get the message to him and I didn't have a problem after all that.

All great stories guy's (been out for a bit) I will get some pic's of my 14 yr old boys truck I am working on now (74 , 3/4 ton 454 ) it's going to be cool and he is way into it (hard worker , and respectfull , for 14). As far as the new diesel stuff , I tell the kids they are way cool on the street , big bucks , get a job and get one if you like , (I love mine but I am a older guy now) , but with the old school stuff you will stomp them out in the mud at the lake bed at 5,500 rpm throwing cow patties at the sun.My little girl tells me all the time how people (at the stop light and the parking lot when she pulls in) say wow that thing sounds bad!!!! (270 comp roller cam , 10 to 1 , flowmasters , rump , rump , rump , rump) and it will cook 35"s for a way's (both of them , not a 1 legger) , so it's pretty fast for what it is.Anyway there is always a spot in my world for the old square chevies and I love seeing the kids like them too.
The 454 I am dropping in my boy"s truck turned a 14.6 time slip at redding raceway in a 1979 4x4 I owned a while back with 35 inch tires and 4.11 gears , that should wake up the 5.0 mustang guy's a bit with a lifted truck.
