Man I am kind of bummed today , I hooked up one of my good friends daughter (just turned 16) with one of my projects and she picked it up today. So my 500.00 78 3/4 ton that I bought wrecked and I put a new front clip on , new bed , 4" lift and 33" swampers is gone today. She saw the truck and fell in love with it , so I hooked her up for 1500.00 , strong 350 , turbo 400 trans etc. Oh well now I will just have to look for another (I think I need to find another stepside) and 8 lug it with a 400 trans , lockers and a big block. Anyway sad to see her go I really did'nt want to sell it , here's some pic's. I really should have kept the dukes of hazzard mags , you just don't see them that often.

Man that's gotta hurt, especially if you remember back how hard all of us were on our 1st vehicles. I believe I would have tried to convince her dad to get her a little Toyota car or something to beat on first. Or maybe her dad put her up to it because he really wanted the truck!! Diabolical!!! :signs6:

She is a real redneck girl , she camps , hunt's , fishes , and rides quads , so she for sure needs a truck , but maybe her dad had a hidden agenda?????????????? I built a nice 78 for my daughter when she was 16 and she wheeled it once in a while , now she is 21 and she treats her truck like it's her baby.Just the other night a guy set a beer on the hood and she told him to get it off and he gave her some crap (it's just an old chevy , whats the big deal ) , so she sunk her cowboy boot in his yam bag and dumped the beer on his head while he was down crying like a school girl , so she takes care of her old chevy. I guess it depends on the person , a lot of kids dont respect the old school stuff. Here is a pic of her truck , it was a lot of work and she keeps it nice 24/7 , but she is not afraid to wheel it either.

I still have my first car and it's not trashed. I was hard on it from time to time but I never abused it. Hopefully the truck is in good hands:)

I love those wheels you let go, and yes you are right you don't see them often anymore. I had a chance to get a set for 200.00, didn't have that much cash on me, and he didn't take credit cards, went back the next day, and they were gone.

Props to your daughter for not taking any **** from a dumb ass, for messing with her truck.

I think it's all but guaranteed that my boys will drive trucks when they get old enough (we'll see if there are any good SB's by then). I was talking with my oldest (4 years old) the other day as he was bringing up cars he wanted when he got big enough. I asked him if he wanted to drive daddy's car (grand prix) when he got big. He quickly said "NO! I want a blue truck when I get big enough" :laughing1: Then he listed off that he also wanted a Suburban, a red truck with a trailer and 4 wheelers, and a van. I have NO idea why he wants a van other than because our friends has one that has a DVD player in it  I will work my hardest to get him away from wanting a van!!!! :D

That's a funny story Jacob, reminds me of when I was little and Gran Prix's weighed around 5,000 pounds and around 18 feet long. We were supposed to go to the store but something happened and we couldn't go. I was really looking forward to getting a candy bar or some kind of snack so I ran out in the car and was determined to drive myself. A was around 5 years old and this stemmed from dad letting me drive his VW Bug on his lap around this time. I managed to get it out of gear and it began to roll over the hill. It ran over pop's outdoor lounge chair, my kiddy pool, (by this time I had clammered my way out and ran and hit under my grandma's couch), side-swiped the apple tree, and if it wasn't for the burning barrel and fence it would have ended up in the creek. The part about me nearly getting run over when I bailed out never crossed dad's mind when he was giving me my ass-whoopin. Moral of the story: Don't get really young kids too worked up about driving, it might surprise you what they'll do!!

 I "drove" my mom's '71 Impala through the garage door one time when I was a kid (about 3 years old). She got out to talk to a neighbor, I got curious about that gear shift on the column. I slipped into drive and it plowed through the garage door and into the garage wall where the living room was on the other side :laughing1:
