She pops off everytime now.

Here is what I think the issue was.

Quadrajet on a spread bore adapter that allows spread bore carb to be mounted on square bore manifold.

It is open in the middle and was sucking on both sides of the carb. Was a CFM problem.

Now it starts But only with choke on.
I need a EdelBrock that can mount directly to the intake.

Get a Holley. You’ll thank me for it later and cool you got it running.

A Holley will not work well at angles.

Going up a hill or the truck leaning while going over a hill could mean a Jet comes out of the fuel and could suck air on a incline.

Wont happen with a Edelbrock.

What kind of off roading are you doing with that thing?? It must be 25' long!! Are you one of those serious rock crawler guys who has to swap axles out all the time?

Must be. Wheels up drag racers are still using Holley carbs and NASCAR used them too. Road race cars did too. Maybe I’m missing something. Maybe he will come back and educate me on my follies of using a Holley.

Maybe it just doesn't want to run when it's just rocking to an fro when he high-centers it? You know the heat doesn't work when it isn't running and you're waiting for a tow.

No trolls...
or,
we are all trolls!
Lol. Well put though, and I think that's pretty accurate. Either one....
You definitely get your money's worth. Good thing it's free.
Yeah, but I'm gonna start feeling guilty. They could charge money for this stuff....

It started with this:

She pops off everytime now.

Here is what I think the issue was.

Quadrajet on a spread bore adapter that allows spread bore carb to be mounted on square bore manifold.

It is open in the middle and was sucking on both sides of the carb. Was a CFM problem.

And went to this:

A Holley will not work well at angles.

Going up a hill or the truck leaning while going over a hill could mean a Jet comes out of the fuel and could suck air on a incline.

Wont happen with a Edelbrock.

Now it starts But only with choke on.

By some miracle, my Holly carbed engines survived:

(1) Wheels up launches

(2) Dirt trackin' 4 wheel drifts

(3) Two by four sideways mounted

(4) Lap after lap of brake rotor glowing decelerations

For over 12 years of serious racing with never a jet uncovered.. How did I ever do it???. It's a miracle, I tell ya!! Wow ---- just WOW!!
