I am looking to order a 4 inch rough country lift ( all spring lift on blocks lol ) and I would like to get the longer brake lines because the ones on the truck are probably as old as the truck Should I just order the ones from rough country ? Or can I get the longer ones from a parts store ? On rough country the list them for 73 to 78. Then 87. Mine is a. 1980 what would fit mine ?

Thanks

JCwhitney has the fronts for about 70, the rear you can do for about 20 bucks or less. You could also bend your own fronts and extend it from the MC down to the axle

Speaking of bending your own, find a shop that does hydraulics, and have them make some. May be cheaper than ordering them online.

If the ones that rough country are good quality I will probably just order them with the lift

I do have a napa parts store in town but I'm not sure if they can get longer than stock lines

Are 79 to 87 All the same ?

IIRC, you can just get longer stock hoses meant for the same year 2wd truck.

Yes on the brake lines. From '79 an up they are metric. 10mm.

'73-'78 they were standard. 7/16"

I would install your lift , (double check everything) , and take her for a spin down the hwy. at 65 ish and if you have no vibrations you are good to go.

I cant remember what t-case came in a 1980 truck , 203/205 or a 208 , if it's a 203 or 205 you problably wont have to do anything with the case , either way drive it first.

Some late model 205's had the slip yoke in the case , (not on the driveshaft) so if that is the style you have you may have to drop it a bit , but maybe not , drive it and you will know.

Yep, ALL 1980's got NP205, no matter 10,20 or 30. 1980 was a year where you had several 1 Only features. 1980 Was also the ONLY year you got Spicer locking front hubs from the factory. Only year you could have OPTIONAL single Square headlights.

I don't recall dropping the Tcase ever being an issue for a 4 inch lift. Not with the few local buds anyway.
