Steering column. You'll need to remove the wheel and lock plate and there's your switch. The wiring threads down through the column.

How far are you from Austin? I'm the resident wiring guru.

someone probably put a trailer light kit in there, the yellow wire is for the left side the green wire is for the right side, easy way to remember is yellow has the l in it for left and green has r for right

You problem is probably in that area then. I'd try to match up the wires, then use some shrink tube over the splices onces you have them all figured out. It can't be that. should be 4 wires and a ground at the most.

Yeah, tighten that up ASAP. I'd hate for your truck to burn up over a damned tail light

i've fixed numerous trucks with hard wired trailer connectors that did similar things. most of the problems have been under the truck, most of them involving the ground.

Why sell it? Now that you got the blinker fluid filled, and its legal, just drive it.

Old used 350's are cheap. The last one I bought for $100 is in my broithers El Co. He says it runs great, and he has to add a quart about every 1200-1500 miles. He is changing the oil every 3000-4000, so about 2 quarts between changes.
