hey guys just had a question i was looking on the internet and talking to some older guys the other day about quadrajets. From what i gathered there were 750's and 800's, and some of the 800's were rare on certain vehicles. so my question is, is a 800 rare on a chevy truck with a 350?

I'm not expert by any stretch, but I'd be very surprised to find a 350 that came with more than a 650 carb on it. I'd think even a moderate build or more on a SBC wouldn't benefit from more than 700-750CFM. Again, I'm no carb expert at all. Just using what little logic I own.

I doubt you'd find an 800 on a 350 that came from the factory that way, but that's not to say someone wouldn't have swapped one on. The bigger CFM carbs are mostly for big blocks.

That's what I thought to but the truck has a 800 on it and my dad bought it brand new and never changed the carb. He said it has never even been off the truck.

Its true, most qjets are in the 700's even on 327's and 350's. IIRC, I want to say most are rated at 780cfm. But, they are actually de or down jetted if you want to call it that. Qjets actually use metering rods rather than jets.
