Thats just a wore out pinion seal, Unsure about on a 14 bolt, but my 12bolt seal I changed it in 5 minutes.

Yeah it works now, I fixed the img tags. Like Trevor said, most likely pinion seal. Anybody here know if that seal can replaced without messing with the gears? Just pull the yoke and slap a new one in?

I have done a couple of mine and I marked the nut before removal , then put it back to the same mark , (maybe a tic more) , and used lock tight. No problems , it takes a lot to crush the crush sleeve.

However I did it two man style by hand , not with an impact gun.

Marking the nut was 1 thing i forgot to do when i did mine.

89S, It doesnt mess with the gears as long as you get it tight, usually about the same tension as befor.

Hirsch: Yeh i 2 manned it also, I had a buddy hold a pipe wrench on the yolk and i had a flex handle on the nut.

Total time on mine litterally took 5 mins, a kid timed me lol.

Could be the gasket between the housing and the pinion support too.

Go with your gut man, and talk him down low as you can. Should have brought a knowledgeable mechanic friend along to help nit pick it and check it out for you. But you knew the asking price going there.
