Thats one lucky kid! The one who rides in the car-seat that is. Very nice truck you have there. Any trouble reading the Dakota gauges in bright sunlight?

The sun has to be directly on it in order to not be able to read it. I rarely have a problem reading the gauges even with the top of my K5 off. Amber is the brightest color you can get of the color choices too. It's recommended for convertibles.

My two little girls love to ride in the blazer. They call it the "monster truck", lol.

Nice! I've got Dakota Digitals in my 77 Scottsdale as well and I love it. Everyone who just glances at the truck sees those and automatically comments on them. I think it may be one of my favorite mods on the truck so far

You ever run the 0-60 or quarter mile using the gauges? If so what were the numbers.

Not recently because I need to fix the connection from the speedometer going into my th350. The connector that actually plugs into my tranny is broken so my speedometer currently doesn't ever show more than 3 mph and I have to be really movin' for it to show that high! Before that broke, though, I was getting about 16 or so in the quarter according to my gauges. I don't remember what my 0-60 time was.

One thing that is really bogging me down with my acceleration is my rearend. I believe it's only a 3.08. I'd like to move up to 3.73 or 4.10 at some point.

Ok so I just have a small project. But i am planning on doing a frame off paint job and stripping the cab to paint the Inside. I am considering those gauges. How hard was the install? Did u hide the mass of wires down below? Did all the sensors work properly? And is it worth the $600?

It's totally worth it. It comes with everything to do the install. The gauges have a long ribbon wire that goes to the module. It can be mounted anywhere within about 5-6 feet or so. All of the connections go to the module and are clearly labeled. The oil sending unit takes the place of the one in the block and is an electronic sensor. It completely does away with the speedo cable and replaced by a sensor at the transmission that is an electronic pulse going to the gauge module. Turn signals are in the cluster as well as high beams.
It's a great piece.
