I say you should either build up that 250 with a nice cam (Port the head too) or just get Mercruiser 250 from a boat to swap in.

That's actually my next plan once I'm done with the new intake and exhaust; I've got my eyes on a comp 240H grind with timing set that I'd like to put in as well, just gonna hold off a few months so as not to spend all my money at once. I've seen lots of posts on the lump port modifications but I don't think I could do it myself, and I've never taken a vehicle to a shop so I don't know if that's an option either.

Thanks goodness for that! What carburetor is on your Offenhauser intake manifold?

There was a lot of back-and-forth on the Holley 390 CFM (8007) and the Edelbrock 500 CFM (1403) and I ultimately went with the Edelbrock, mostly because I've rebuilt them before, I understand them, and the general consensus seems to be that they're more "streetable" and easily worked on by your average DIY mechanic. I've got nothing against Holley, I just didn't know what to expect and am really just looking for reliability and something I can work on. And maybe a little extra power, wouldn't complain about that.

I forgot to even say, welcome my fellow north Carolinian.
From salisbury!!

Yeah, it's been interesting watching your build threads, I actually grew up in Hickory, not too far from Salisbury. Nice little area, would probably still be there if my line of work had much of anything for jobs out there.

Welcome to being involved with the page.

Truck looks like a cool one to fiddle with.
I like the straight sixes, but my truck came with a much larger block.

Heh, not at all! Your builds are definitely not something I'd ever do myself, but the custom fabrication work and research/planning you have to do is hella impressive. I'm still trying to get over my own fears of breaking something when starting any big project, so I look to some of the work on this forum as inspiration that I could do the same one day.

This is from my android phone.

Hit upload file

Then hit documents

Then hit gallery

Then you can choose camera, downloads,Facebook or whichever album you have pics in

Then click on the pick and it will load under the upload a file button.

Then it will give you two options either Thumbnail or Full Image.

I hit full image and it inserts it in the post then hit your post reply and there ya go.

Good God man do you have no respect for your phones battery? Turn on the square body dark mode setting. ;)

And welcome @WamboJambo, like the truck.

I think you over estimate HOW rusty these trucks can be. Yours is not a rusty pos! Its just patina.

Wanna see rusty?
