Hey all! Im new to the forum, and well this is also the first forum I've ever been a part of. So in all honesty, as the tittle implies I've never really been crazy about C10s. So I dont have any stories about how I finally got my dream truck and what not. I traded my C10 for a crashed GSX-R that I needed to get rid of and I was accepting trades. They offered me the C10 and I took it. That being said... I absolutely love this damn thing and I'll probably be buried in it now. Lol Its not in the best of shape, but the amount of trouble this truck has gotten me out of, and the amount of working its done for me with me giving it absolutely nothing has really amazed me. Its just an old rugged, typical rust spots 305 long bed. Yet its never let me down. My 99 Silverado's transmission took a crap right before I needed to move and this little truck towed my entire house from Florida City to Orlando with a blown radiator, 1 dead cylinder (40 psi), and a HUGE valve cover leak (2 quarts of oil ever 50 miles or so.) To my surprise... It made the trip without leaving me on the side of the road( I had even put $300 aside to pay for a tow, I was expecting it to die.) So my Silverado is still dead and I've decided to give the C10 some love, it's earned it. Took the heads off sent em to get rebuilt at a local machine shop, its got all new gaskets and seals in the too end, put new tires on it, had the carburetor (original Rochester 4 barrel) rebuilt, put new plugs and wires in it, and also gave the wiring harness a once over and gave it new wire looms to protect it from the heat. Truck runs great now except for a couple kinks and is currently my daily until I get the Silverado transmission fixed and then I'll garage the C10 and restore it entirely, that's my plan. So looking forward to getting some info from you C10 savy guys, I'm a car mechanic by trade but haven't really messed with older cars a lot since I've mostly worked for dealerships. Anyways thanks for having me, here's a couple pictures of the truck.

Old chevys come with extra parts from the factory. Those parts include lazy cylinders, seals and gaskets, body panels, and random fluids. Dont worry if these start falling off, youll still be able to get it running to point b.

You dont say... Seing as its just a 305, I actually tried to just kill it once so I'd have an excuse to tell myself to go 454 shopping and drove it about 26 miles with no oil in it this one time it ran outta oil and I didn't have anything to put in it... So i drove it for 26 miles making all kind ticks and rattles from the valve train. Got home parked it, pretty much assumed I'd done it, to my surprise I put oil in the next morning annnddd... Im still waiting for it to die...

Well it does have alot of rust, all on the cabin the cab corners and also on the door sills, the doors themselves and on the inside corners where the kick panels would be if it wasnt an 84 interior made mostly outta metal lol look... The black tape is where the old owner taped over the completely gone section im guessing (havnt touched the tape since i got the truck cuz i know thats a can of worms i aint ready for yet) and under those makeshift black cloth sections he called a "new carpet" lmao are several rust spots and holes.

Something cool tho, the other day I was sweeping it out and found these under the bench. Not sure if originals but they sure look old.
