If your keeping the cab its going to have to come off to do the required repairs. Only way to do it properly.

Need a cab? I have one that will be available soon. It does need a little work:

Driver's floor is completely shot - like a Fred Flintsone floor. It needs rockers (inner and outer - both sides), cab corners, floor supports and channels.

Comes with no doors, no wiring harness, no glass, HVAC system or any other interior parts.

It does have roof markers - but I am keeping those. So unfortunately, there will be 5 holes in the roof.

It has had an AC conversion done to it. As a result, there is a homemade hole in the RH side of the firewall. That's not a problem though, the hole is covered up with a piece of sheet metal. There is also a pretty big dent on the back wall of the cab behind the driver.

The paint is blue and faded (but not everywhere - only in the areas that get exposed to sunlight)

But other than those few things, it's still a pretty sweet deal.

I have had success with boiled linseed oil in the past. I would thin it just enough to spray it through an old siphon gun. Did it every fall. With plenty of washes after trip in the salt I really slowed the rust down.

Take a wire wheel to it and brush/spray on some rust mort or any other high quality rust converter then prime with self etching primer.

Rust if not fully stopped returns in very short order.

How ever POR 15 claims that you can paint it right over top of rust but I dunno how long lasting that is
