Thanks for the answers! What does that make my mirrors then? Are they OEM?

The truck has an automatic in it. I wish it was a manual! It has all 8 bolt wheels all the way around, with a funky rear axle.

yes they are OEM as are the "Dumbo" mirrors and my mirrors for that matter. Let's call yours 'Tripod' mirrors :D

I am sure Old77 will come up with a name for those mirrors you got too. :flipthebird:

Let it be known, I did not name the "dumbo" mirrors. I just passed on my knowledge of their name to you fine folks here on GMSB :waytogo:

Thanks for the welcomes!

I'd like a very small percentage of the royalties just for asking the question. I will only need a small percentage because this will be so popular that it will sell billions of dollars worth. :)

Hahaha, I'm hoping so. I had actuall intended to move those antic over to the Off-Topic Thread.
BTW 76GMC, as you can see, we do occasionally get carried away in threads and if they are not in the Tech area, sometimes will let them run a bit. But if you need a thread cleaned up, just shoot me a PM and I'll Git'r Done.

Ahhh, but you gotta love that rear axle. The best light duty truck axle made right there. Should be a full floater GM Corporate 14 bolt. You'd probably have to step to a Dana 70 to get stronger. If still stock, it'll be a Turbo 350 and a NP203 Full Time Transfer Case. You're right, had it been a SM465 manual, you'd have had the Gear to Gear NP205 Transfer Case. But, you also have the Dana 44 Front Axle which also most desired in the 1/2 and 3/4. So keep both your axles for certain.

Ok, thanks! I didn't know what they were, but a few local guys have offered $$$ to buy the truck just for the axles. I've declined the sale everytime. The only thing I do know about them is they appear to be much more HD than my K5 axles.

I am thnking you just might be our first Canadian member. But don't run off. We have some guys recruiting their own local members. They are putting notes on windshields of squarebodys they see around their town. You never know which ones might have a stock pile of parts.
