I got a new hanger support bearing for the driveline on my 73 long bed C 10. It came with a spacer ring. Do I need to use it? If so does it go in front or behind the bearing on the shaft?

My 74 c20 doesn't have a spacer. I'm not sure that mine is right, I just installed it like the old one on my driveshaft but I don't know if that one was done right.

Same here. No spacer. Actually the bearing wasn’t even pressed on it was just dangling there.
