Does anyone know of you can unplug the front light wiring harness from the fuse box? My truck is 1990 crewcab. I'm having an issue with it blowing a fuse the second I turn the running lights on. It blows the #2 fuse which is the tail light/courtesy light. I'm trying to insulate the differt harnesses.

I’ve got a full replacement front lighting harness for 88-91 front ends if you need an entire new harness. It has the correct firewall connector for you which is the same on CCs from 1975-up.

Just curious what does one cost? I'm going to disconnect the harness and see what happens.

Is that 75-up crew cabs, or all the '75 and later trucks? Just curious.

It has a square plug at the bottom of the block under the separate rear wiring harness. Little SOB is a pain to unplug.

Well its not the head or tail light wiring. Disconnected everything light related from the fuse block and stills blows the fuse. Im thinking its the headlight switch shorting out internally. Just replaced to a couple months ago but that doesn't mean it's good. Luckily it has a lifetime warranty so I will just exchange it.

My 88-91 style front harnesses have the same connector as all 75-up pickups including crews, the Burbs and K5s beginning in 1988 used the newer style bulkhead connector which carries over to the newer style pickups. A lot of 81-87 guys like using 88-91 front clips so this harness is perfect for that kind of swap.

For your specific year a forward lamp harness is $189. For an 88-91 harness they are $239

Well I figured out the issue. Seems when I put in the new radio I wired up the ground wrong. What I thought was a black ground was not a ground (turned out it was a black wire with a white stipe and it was 12 volt power from the headlight switch). So when I turned on the lights it was sending 12 volts to a ground there for blowing the fuse. My dumb mistake but she is good to go now.
