Oh really? Another tow trucker. We just need to change the damn name to this forum. There's about 6 of us here. I can't even remember all of us now.

I'll make you a deal. You can keep your ugly SRW K30, I won't send my cousin to get it. And you can keep that ugly orange truck too. Just gimme that little square silver box behind the glove box that kinda looks like an ECM and the wiring harness that kinda goes to the 4L80-E transmission. You know, tow buddies take care of each other !!! :deal::High 5::favorites13::console:

Ohhhh, boy....you know Kip, in the Civic center KW? He lives in Vacaville, takes the truck home often.
You with Roadrunner, or Vacaville?
I started towing back in 96.

I do believe 1993 (a transition year) was the first year the 6.5 went away from a standalone ECM for the 4L80E...

What if it has a manual?

Oh, an' welcome!

Don't go raining on my parade again. I was thinking it was 92-93, not 93-94. Maybe it's a real early 94 and has it. :roflbow::roflbow::roflbow:

I was trying to recall all the tow drivers Jim. Who am I forgetting? You, Me, TowJoe, Towman, and dang it, I know there is at least 2 more. Can't think of their ID's.

Looked it up...1993 was the transition year...

Thanks for raining on my parade anyway, you little bitch !!! :roflbow::roflbow::roflbow:

So that takes care of that Roughneck. Just so you know, I prolly wouldn't have taken it anyway, but just so you're in the know and don't scrap or throw any away, the ECM's in 91-93, or 92 and 93, with 6.5 diesels and Auto 4L80-E transmissions are standalone ECM's and wiring harness to operate the 4L80-E transmission and they are highly sought after, and usually bring a little cash.

I do happen to have to have a 2wd 4L80-E but IF I USE IT, and don't sell it, my intent was to run it in a street/mostly strip truck with some low 4.56 or 4.88 gears and still be able to drive it on the freeway. Being a street/strip truck, I wouldn't need the automatic functions and planned on running a neck snapping full manual valve body. I did it before back in the day with a daily driver Th350, so I'm sure I can do it again. It's actually pretty fun with a Ratchet shifter.
