i couldnt wait... I ended up using some duct tape. wrapped it around the striker about 4 or 5 times and now the door closes nicely, no slamming required ...

My wife got in mine to make a Lowes run a couple weekends ago. Mind you, the day I replaced the strikers, I called her outside to show how well the doors closed. Well, she gets in and BAM! So, I wait to see if she just forgot, and closed mine softly. We got to Lowes, and she hopped out......BAM!! all over again. Mind you, I have not put the felt in on the pass side yet so the damn windows also banging against the metal. This time I cringe, and I see her looking at me while I'm cringing. NOW she gets the point, right?

She asks to stop by Walmart to get a couple of quick things. I'm staying in the truck, so I drop her at the door, and she doesn't slam it. I go park til she comes back out. When I see her, I roll back up to pick her up and whaddaya know??? BAM!! LOL! That was all I could take. I said, "You may not remember, but I fixed the doors. You no longer have to slam them." She has the nerve to look at me sideways for saying something. Luckily we were only 1.5 mi from the house cause I had to hurry up and get her the hell out before she shattered my ******* glass. I already hate when people slam doors, but when it's a loud tin can of a truck w/not headliner or carpet, it's just that much worse.

I agree with the noise problem in a bare cab my wife slams mine all the time because she says shes not used to them shutting so easily. My doors shut and sound like a brand new truck

Now I no longer have to get out of the truck and walk all the way around to close it for my kids!

Mine are acting up, I am back to slamming the drivers side 2 doors again. I don;t know what happened. Maybe put some new pieces in there and make sure the strikers didn't move.

Yesterday while taking a break from splitting wood, Pop grabbed some short pieces of Pex for to use. Grabbed the shortest one, about 3 inches long, his pvc cutter, eye-balled the length, cut two pieces using the drivers side as a guide, and then slit them lenghtwise on the bench. Installed drivers side first, WOW! Passenger side installed, DOUBLE WOW! Even with the windows rolled up the doors shut easily. Before it required some upper body lean with arm pull. Or from the outside a good push with some weight behind it. Now it takes about a quarter of the effort!

Just take the striker bolt off, cut a piece of pex to fit the pin, put the pin on a 2x4 or other piece of scrap wood, shoot some wd-40 on it, start the pex on then put a large socket on there that is just big enough to push the pex on. You really have to beat it with a hammer to drive it home but it will go!
