Here's a pic of it dry. There's alot loose particals laying on it. Dont know if a air hose has enough pressure behind it to blow it or not. I think a parts washer will take a the loose particals off. I might clean it again the way I have it the barrel. Is what clean cast intake looks like unpainted?

Some of that is loose and needs blown off or cleaned off with parts washer. There's spots where it could be cleaned again. The rest is just the color of cast but I could be wrong.

Nope it's rust. Clean cast iron is dark gray. When you have an iron part submerged in water for this process, as soon as it comes out you need to dry it off and spray some light oil on it to prevent rust, or hurry up and paint it.

Blow it dry with a compressor next time. Don't really need head, just air movement.

So if I were to blow dry mine then spray it with liquid wrench. What do I use to remove the oil for painting later.

I don't blow dry ****. I just spray it with WD-40 while its still wet since WD is Water Displacement, so the WD-40 gets under the water to the metal, then the water can dry on its own and the WD-40 keeps its from re rusting.

I assume that I should spray all over even inside the ports.
