That 78 is pretty much exactly the truck I am looking for.. If it was 1/2 ton, I'd be all over it.. Sounds like you scrapped it???

NOOOOO!!

Even if you part that thing out, cab, frame, and title has GOT to be worth more than the CHinese are giving yoU!!!

Seriously, I will be heading to Michigan in the end of May, if you still have that truck, (78 with 350/4 speed) I'd be very interested in towing it back..

For future reference to ANYONE, my ideal truck is a 73-79 (round headlights) with a 350/4 speed (prefer the one with the regular 4, not the granny low with 3 useable gears) and if possible, a 1/2 ton. Getting to the point where I am willing to drive to get a low, or no rust one of this type.

If you've seen my cab floors I am dealing with, even a cab frame and title would be a step at this point..

What kinda price you needing out of the D60? And do you by chance just have any right side knuckes or a 10 bolt or D44?

I have a 10 bolt 4:10,I`ve got it all apart.
I do`nt want to sell pieces but I will sell the complete axle.
I do`nt think there is anything the matter with the ball joionts.
I rebuilt this axle.new bearings and seals in everything,I did this as a favor for another guy to keep His truck on the road, thinking it was the same ration as My 79, it was`nt.
I started working on the front axle of My 79, I took the ring gear carrier out of the 4:10 and put it into My 79 front diff with My 3:73 ring gear attached.
The axles will need new U-joints.
The pinion gear is setting on a new seal and bearings. The axle tubes have new seals in them.
Is what You will need, new bearings on the ring gear carrier and new U-Joints on the axles and it`ll be good to go.
Oh Yeah, the ring gear carrier out of the 4:10 was a perfect match for My 3:73, with a five to seven back lash, same as My ring gear carrier before I took My differential apart, the side to side was the same too with just the right amount of tension on the carrier bearings using the spacers from My 3:73 diff. so the spacers with the 3:73 carrier into the 4:10 should be a perfect fit.
The ring gear has several teeth with surface rust that should`nt hurt anything. I have seen them a LOT worse and run without a problem.

He said he got a deposit on it, so no scrap. It's a cool truck, pretty solid too. It doesn't look like something that would normally be found in this area of the country.

Do you happen to have an '84+ floor shift steering column? I'm local, so you wouldn't have to deal with shipping it.

Yea 78 k20 sold. A friend of mind gave me a 4x4 90 k10 suburban with bad motor and a 89 k5 offroad truck for it.

I have several tilt colums but none that are floor shift. We just knock shifter out and use colum shift on our stuff. I've only seen one of those colums in all my trucks I've had so must be hard peace to find

All I have in visors are non lighted ones and last time I shipped one it cost more to ship it than a new one. I sold one for a 2 ton furd and shipping was $100 alone since it was way oversized.

Sorry been so busy haven't had time to be on computer still. On the lighter note I did get a new toy this weekend. It's a 1985 M1009 blazer with 70k miles. To bad someone tryed to civilianize it and put 35" tires and 4" lift on it. Oh well still going be a fun driver and should get 20 plus mpg

I've seen 3 or 4 floor shift tilt columns at the yards when I pulled the pedals or in 1984 trucks....Should have grabbed them?

Only crew cab I have left I'm looking to sell is a 86 c30. Real nice old truck 350 auto 2wd. It's on the car lot right now for $3500. If it don't sell in next month or so I'm going to pull cab off it and put it on a 4wd frame I have and build a crew cab 4x4 wrecker.
