This may come across as an odd question but does anyone happen to know what would be involved when removing the tow equipment from a C30 dually?
One showed up for sale here and with the short bed in back it's a very decent looking truck. I have no use for the tow abilities but was wondering how difficult it would be to make a cool short bed dually C30 out of it.

Also, is the tow equipment worth anything once removed? I'm thinking it could offset the cost of the restoration a bit.

Not sure they ever made short dually beds. Would most likely either have to shorten a dually bed or take a short bed and swap flares onto it.

Other than that, my guess is that there just may be extra mounting points for the tow equipment versus the standard bed.

Im sure some other guys like Retro, 89S, Hot rod, and chengy would know the differences between the different setups.

Once you get it all off, you will find that it's still a LWB truck.

Yes, I agree. The bed is still very short though.

Unfortunately the owner who is selling it is another one of those jackasses that can't decide on a price and then says he'll call you back but doesn't.

I'll assure you, he's going to want to much for it if you're not interested in it for any towing purposes. Chances are it's a Cab & Chassis truck. Maybe not, but if you can get the VIN, we can let you know for certain.

I'm going to look at it this weekend. I finally spoke with the owner last night at length. He's retired. The truck has a new crate 454 and a rebuilt transmission (automatic surprisingly). Interior is nice and body has no rust, just a few scratches. He's asking $6500 but "cash talks" he added.

I'll add an update once I check it out.
