That is nice. Should have no problem getting $1800 for it.

Yup, I would love to have it, just to have it...but the wife says it looks like the kind of truck that needs a transmission every 2 or 3 years. Im gonna hold off for a while, but i will have another square. It WILL be a 73 or 74...I have had it with these pointless visual inspections.
Will quite possibly be running an Atlas I6 with a turbo, and a 6l80e. Not decided on 2 or 4wd, 10 or 20.

Because it's a CUCV and all of them came with a 6.2 Th400 NP208 Dana60 Front, 14BB full float with 4.56 gears and Detroit Locker in the rear axle.

Only exception, is the models that needed a PTO, and they got the NP205. Very rare but they exist. And some models also got a Limited Slip unit in the front Dana 60 axle.

Lol, that's the same thing I asked several weeks ago. I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't know they came with 208's

It's been said, the reason this was done, is the military puts out some specs they want met. The NP205 only has a crawl ratio of 1.96:1 and if he military wanted 2.5:1 or better, then then he NP208 had to be the one since it has a 2.61:1 crawl ratio.

The NP208 is not weak, it's just not as strong as the NP205. There are some advantages of the NP208 over the NP205, but if you need bulletproof, NP205 is probably the better choice.

It does have buckets though. Probably the uncommon two-tone interior too, since the seats are white.

I'm sure climbing under that truck would be a horror show. I'd bet it hauled a sander around its whole life just like every other square around here :banghead:
No doubt there were few made in those options though.
