When I see an aerocoupe, my mind instantly thinks about the good days of NASCAR, which is how those cars came about.

The '77-'79 Caprice/Impala is a different ball game. I just plain love those cars, always have.

I used to have a '77 caprice 2 door. I'll try to remember to post a pic of it tomorrow.

Bug out vehicle. lol. looks like it's never been anywhere but the mall. And for 39.5k, I would expect new tires, instead of half worn ones.

Would love to have this

1979 was the first year for those.

Huh, never would have thought it. I don't think I've ever seen a factory set on one. At least not before the mid eighties. I think I would have believed the old hurricane style was available from factory before the alcoas.

They weren't original to that truck though, they were only on the GMC Street Coupe in 1979. In 1980, the Chevy Sport and GMC Jimmy got them. They became an option on all C-K10 and K5 in 1981.

I'm almost positive they were not Alcoas either. This is the first time I've seen the factory aluminum wheels referred to as Alcoas.

IIRC, the hurricane wheels were available as a dealer accessory. Somewhere around here I've got a factory booklet that shows them, among other things. It was a '76 brochure I believe. My '77 K5 seems to have original dealer-installed hurricanes on it. They are the right type (13 spokes, IIRC) and manufacturer, and are also date coded as 1977.
