I'll agree, as I get older the bench is becoming more useful. But on the other hand, I still much prefer the coziness of a bucket seat and the storage space of the big center console. I like keeping stuff with me in the truck, but I hate a cluttered interior.

Also my lower back has been bothering me lately and the bench seat doesn't help it much. And I spend a fair amount of time making my daily commute, so the seat sees a lot of use in one day.

You've got enough truck Andy, you can afford to have one with a bench seat. I'd always prefer buckets, but only 2 seats in standard cab is just weak. My grandaughters love sitting in the middle in their carseat, cuz they are next to me, and cuz they get to set up front cuz there is no back seat. I guess if I left the middle seat belt, I could still sit their car seat on the console though huh? I"m not sure how strong the console is so I dunno. I know I'd like at least one of my standard cab trucks to have buckets and a console. Probably my daily driver since it most likely just me, then if i have the babies with me I'll do one of the other trucks. Doesn't sound like you're doing to good at getting talked out of buckets. :roflbow:

One thought was to put the console on quick-release pins, and have a small jump seat that could go in using those same pins. I could maybe adapt the center seat from a '99-up.

That sounds like the win right there.
