I need more help with some decision making for my '84 :baby:

I have factory pickup buckets and console that I planned to install. I like the feel of bucket seats and the storage space that the huge factory console provides. However, I have found myself using the bench seat quite often, but I don't think it's because I need to, it may be just because it's there. Mostly, my wife rides in the middle when we go somewhere (without the kids of course) and I have been giving the kids rides (usually 3 or 4) around the property.

Basically, you folks need to talk me back into going with bucket seats and console

The buckets look like yours, but tan and not as nice. The bench is maroon, faded, torn up, and sort of collapsed on the driver's side.

Bu ya can't do "c'mere corners" with buckets!!! (take a hard right turn with slippery vinyl bench seat, and her not wearing seatbelt, so she can C'MERE when she's sitting too far!)

When I was about 19, I'd have like 6 girls piled in my truck, no way I coulda done that with buckets!

center consoles make it hard to get road head.

Seriously go with the 60/40 split bench with the fold down console,

Can be done, though :deal: I had buckets with a console in my '02 GMC back in the day and had NO issues getting said 'services' :naughty: I really miss that truck :sad72:

I say go bench. If you use it alot, and it concerns the wife, I say all the way, bench. You'll find as you get older, booty calls don't happen often, so I think I'd have provisions ready to go at all times for that moment she's ready !!! :hitit:

I never had that problem with the wife in the 2001 and up models and Avalanches. Just swing the center arm rest up out of the way. Of course she was only 5'3 and 105 -110lbs depending on the time of the year. I like buckets better too, but sometimes especially in a standard cab truck, the bench is the only way to go. 2 seater only are for Vettes and Porsche not trucks. JMO. Another reason why I really want a Burb or K5.

I'll agree, as I get older the bench is becoming more useful. But on the other hand, I still much prefer the coziness of a bucket seat and the storage space of the big center console. I like keeping stuff with me in the truck, but I hate a cluttered interior.

Also my lower back has been bothering me lately and the bench seat doesn't help it much. And I spend a fair amount of time making my daily commute, so the seat sees a lot of use in one day.
