The bottom seat foam on my '87 Blazer is worn out so you are basically sitting on the metal support rail. I called LMC as I noticed the description on the foam replacement (38-2383) only goes up to '86 (which they confirmed) even though the picture looks like a match for the '87. Was wondering if anyone has had any experience using this foam on a later year truck?

It's different foam in the later seats like yours. It's also my understanding that the original foam and seat fabric were bonded together, acting as one unit. A very good upholsterer is needed to recover the seat in a way that appears original.
