Hello!! Need some help! Question: 1980 K10 350 Is Valve spring replacement necessary when replacing the cam, or will the stock springs be fine? Any links to get specs for this motor. Replacement cam instructions say to use VS-380 valve springs? Cam kit is Melling CL-MTC-1. Thanks

At 0.420" intake / 0.443" exhaust lift the stock springs should be fine, provided they are in good shape.

Right, if they are in good shape. If original, they are 30 years old and have some miles on them so there may be a few that are weak.

i wouldnt risk the motor over some valve springs, might as well do them while you have it all apart... thats what i'd do

good idea, But youll get them springs off and wiggle that valve and "crap" the guides are shot!
Might as well do a valve job too while ya got it apart.

Using the umbrella type valve seals will buy a little more time if you can afford a valve job. I like those type better even if I do get a valve job. The round O ring type don't take long to dry out.
