I think I have it wired in the correct firing order, but starting with the wrong wire as marked by the previous owner.

You're probably off now, go thru the firing order again, starting at the post that the rotor is facing that will be #1.

Thank you. I don't believe my echlin from Napa is labeled. I'll check it tonight after work. Is the echlin any good? By the looks of it, I already need new plugs.

Sorry, I don't use Echlin so I can't really say, in fact I don't even use those retainers..

That ring on top that has the numbers on it, it snaps on top of the plug wires it's a factory piece.

I didn't realize that was a separate piece from the picture. Very nice truck, by the way.

Thanks, the idea is to hold the wires on the cap, there's a snap on each side to hold it, it is a cool thing if you have junk wires because you can take all the wires off the cap and just put them back without relocating each one, but if you use good wires the retainer will pop off the wires before the wire comes of the cap, lol..

That's because they usually get thrown away, when I got my Nova I was shocked to see one still there, lol..
