1ton and 3/4ton 14blt difference

I already have the disc brake conversion for it so that'll drop some lbs.
I found the numbers you were talking about and looked it up and yes its 89-91 1ton, but like you said it came with no slide off drums. Just the spring perche keeps throwing me off

You lucked out then, because supposedly the slide off drum version doesn't have the flat area to bolt the disk brake conversion kit on

Going off memory here... many 1-tons had 3" shoes and the lighter ones were 2.5"? I also believe that the later design (ribbed) axle from a squarebody truck will never have slide-off drums? I think that was a gmt400 thing.

But for sure in the squarebody years, all crew cabs (even the uncommon C20) and all 1-tons had the narrow perch spacing and shock mounts inboard of the frame rails. It wasn't just the cab+chassis trucks.

Oh, and besides the inboarded shocks, they are staggered in the opposite direction compared to the 3/4 ton axle.

No offense but there’s a fair amount of mixed up and/or misinformation here, @bucket posts are correct.
