1978 C/10 Newbie

Good afternoon guys, I am totally new to the world of trucks I have owned many mustang and Monte Carlos but this is my first time with a Square body. My daily driver is a 2003 Trailblazer and I am now a proud owner of a fully resoted 427 powered 78 stepside. I am taking delivery of it tomorrow and I am very excited. I wanted to join a forum that is knowledgable and will be able to teach me the ways of the square body. Looking forward to learing alot!!

Here are the pictures that I have so far. I know the engine is out of a 1970 big block Chevelle so if that helps great if not as soon as I get the dam thing I will let you know. Thank you for the welcome.

70 Chevelles didn't have 427s. 454 or 396(402) were offered. May have a 454 block with 427 guts.(good). Mine was an LS6 but it doesn't live anymore, now it has a 427. Yours looks good though.. Gonna be fun

"Genuine" 427 blocks had oil cooler setup by the filter.

Thanks for sharing. @Sublime has his engine and the entire truck, for that matter, painted the same color as your block and heads.

Yenkos had 427 but none in 70 lol who really cares it’s a big block lol

Welcome to GMSB post a pick of the driverside head at the water pump. Looks good, then again it is a big block can’t go wrong there.

Thank you for the info. I did not know that the 427s had oil coolers set up by the filters or that they didn’t come in all those cars. This is the cast number on the block Cast Number 3963512. If you guys have any info I’d really appreciate it.

I thought his was Corporate Blue, but someone's definitely got a pink one.
