New to the forum. Need to start fixing up my '88 but need to know exactly what I have when buying parts.
All I know is that it's an '88 4WD. Is it a C K V ? 1500 2500 3500 ? How do I find out. I tried looking up through VIN but it's not giving me that detail.

When you get stuff from parts stores, it might be best to ask for '87 parts. It's all the same and can avoid confusion. Some computer systems show parts for for the newer body style when you look up an '88.

Welcome to GMSB Sean. I've moved this thread from the Reference Library and turned it into your Introduction thread. Feel free to start up a build thread to post and track your progress. You can also ask for help and ideas in your build thread. You will also get others opinions whether you want them or not. It's what we do, however it's your truck and you're free to make it your own no matter what anyone else thinks.

Your build thread would go in this category below.

Hey thanks everyone!
Chose the best fit for the post. Sorry about that.

I'll soon be fixing up the big red beast. Runs great. Like a brand new vehicle, just not too pretty inside. Previous owner took very good care of the running parts. Starts up on first key turn.

Does it still have fuel rejection?

Your truck is a heap. Bring it up here to BC and I'll take it off your hands.
