I picked a 5.3 a while back and planning on rebuilding and maybe doing a cam swap. The only problem is that dang intake is just so ugly. Does anybody know of any covers or other ways to make it a little prettier? Or even any other intakes that will bolt on with minor modifications that wont...
He's definitely been around square bodies his whole life. My 86 has AC, and manual floor vents. I know a guy who just bought a 76 with no headliner and a dome light. Looks like the wires were run through the roof.
I just sold an engine I had originally planned on putting in my 86 GMC to buy a more fuel efficient 5.3. I'm wanting buy a whole donor vehicle that way I can have all the wiring I'll need and can part it out and get some of my money back. (And maybe swap the seats into my square) the question is...

I know the header has nothing to do with the power steering pump. I've changed pumps before. Its a Chevy small block. It was in a mustang. The headers were hacked up
I'm going to be using long tube headers. Only thing I'll have to change over is my power steering pump. Hopefully it won't be too bad. I've changed em before though.

I wasn't including the exhaust in the price. After doing a bit more research I realize it will cost more than I had planned. I'm completely fine with that. Also I'm dating the exhaust mans neice so I might get a decent discount haha. He usually charges around $200 and does a damn good job.
Thanks for the help. This is sounding like the way to go. I graduate highschool in may so this is what I'm wanting to do before i eave for the Marine Corps in July. I'm pretty green when it comes to engines.
I have the compressor and everything for A/C. I won't do the efi right away. I'm just looking for options. I won't be be driving it a whole lot for a while. I ship out to boot camp in July.
