I made the mistake of pulling a bunch of parts out of my engine compartment so I could do some research on what they were so I could buy new ones. Now that I have done so I realized that I should have kept track of which bolts were used to attach each part.
I am now trying to put things back...
So I am a total noob to restoration.
I recently went in the engine compartment and took a bunch of parts off. When I disconnected the thermostat housing and the lower radiator hose I notice that the interior of the engine is very rusty.
The truck ran a few months ago when I bought it but...

It was attached to the bolt that held the thermostat housing down. I am so new that I really don't know what anything is called. Is there a manual that will tell me the names for all the parts in the engine compartment. I know I have a bunch of work...
So I forgot to mention I am replacing the radiator because it has a leak. Will reconditioning fix this?
I plan on ordering everything from Rock Auto so there isn't a parts guy to ask.
I have a 81 GMC Sierra 2500 that has a 5.7L 350cid V8 from a 79 C10 in it.
I looking to order all the parts i need to replace the radiator, belts, and hoses but am a little overwhelmed with all the choices. I am also not sure which parts I need to get.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
