Here is a pic... http://imgur.com/t8czsqf

It was attached to the bolt that held the thermostat housing down. I am so new that I really don't know what anything is called. Is there a manual that will tell me the names for all the parts in the engine compartment. I know I have a bunch of work but it takes me a while to figure out the name of what I am looking at.

Also is there standard tubing for all the little tubes that run around the engine that are attached to the thinga-ma-jig in the picture? Can I just get a bunch and cut them to length? Also how should I keep track of what tubes go to what?

Sorry for such a noob post. I don't really know where to start. I just figure I have to replace just about everything. Here are some pictures of the engine... http://imgur.com/a/2vIGK

Most of those "tubes" are vacuum lines. There will be 2 or 3 different diameters. You can buy vacuum hose at about any parts store. Just get about 5 feet of each size and cut it to length. That will leave you with some extra in case you need it down the road. Just replace 1 at a time so everything goes back where it's supposed to.

Looks like it might be a decel valve - they always seem to be mounted on the t-stat housing for some reason. Here is what it looks like on later models:

But, there are usually two bigger hoses attached to it as well the small actuating line - so who knows? Is the EPA sticker still on the radiator support frame?
