Lmao. That's just SO wrong.....
That was actually unintentional. I was gonna quote his post and didn’t. And it didn’t go away and when I quoted the other post it picked up the partial as well. Lol I’m not generally a dick to helpful people

Lol. No, you're not. It's kinda like how my hot dog picture wouldn't go away. Whew. That took some doing to get rid of....

I've run into this before with the XenForo sites. Gifs can only be so big when uploaded, then you've gotta use something else. Sucks. Sorry....

Transmission dipstick tube grommet. That happens because trans fluid eventually comes out of the torque convertor.

I wish I had an '89 Caprice with a 305...

The bumper shocks can be compressed as mentioned, but then you still have the ends hanging out. To do it slick, you have to shave and narrow the bumpers.

I’m wondering if you could do a bumper tuck ala Chip Foose style? I know the bumpers are bolted to those shock absorbing thingies but a talented guy like yourself should be able to whip up some new mounts and give the car a unique look.

I’ve got a pair of the collapsed shocks that were on the front bumper of my Caprice. I actually like the 70s impact bumper look better, and you’re right, it looks a little fishy with them simply sunk in especially when you put the top filler piece on. You can probably adjust it out to make it good, and if you file the rough edges that the aftermarket filler has, it’d be fine. The side front filler tucks inside the bumper very neatly.

By the way, if anyone wants those shocks, I’ll mail them to you for the cost of shipping.

my mom was issued a third gen caprice like this for a couple years before they switched to the fourth gen body style. she had two fourth gens, too. her 1996 caprice was actually a pretty nice car. not sure if they even upped the horsepower with the police package, but it felt quick enough when I was a kid. my mom has never been picky about cars, but she was disappointed when they gave her a crown vic. she wanted her caprice back. I don't remember much about the 3rd gen though because my pops had a 87 Monte Carlo SS that he was issued around the same time in narcotics. I thought that car was the coolest thing ever when I was little. nothing like jumping train tracks in a car you don't have to pay for.

Same boat. Well, sorta because these are civilian cars. My dad bought this one in 1999, there’s my ‘86 that was given to me in 2016, and then then there’s my mom’s ‘93 model that she had from ‘97 to like ‘08, which she bought to replace her Merkur Scorpio. I like that year because it still had the same E Code 305 that the blue one has. It’s a 305, but damn that thing runs smooth as butter. They went to the LT1 350 in 1994, got rid of the analog speedo except for 9C1, I think, and shaved the point off the rear quarter glass. I know the civilian models got a detuned version, but I imagine the 9C1 got the Corvette version or slightly better. Your family predominantly in law enforcement? I’ll bet that Monte was sweet...
